The story behind this beautifully restored ’71 Firebird is interesting. It’s owner Ty Ingle’s first car; he got it in 1985. Ty has been in the Air Force for over 24 years now and despite all his moving around he’s managed to keep the car. Last year he decided to restore it and with the help of Chad Fletcher of Fletcher’s Custom and Speed. Chad thought, in his words, “It was just going to be a quick scuff and shoot.” But the deeper they got into the car the more they realized how much was wrong with the car. It had been hit and bent, rusted and filled in with buckets of Bondo. So Chad and his team of Jerry and Josh went to work. Chad wanted to honor Ty’s service in the Air Force so he started a thread on the web and companies poured in donations of parts. They earnestly went to work 7 weeks prior to SEMA last year and finished in time to display the car in the Pypes booth to rave reviews.
